Of This Earth: Portfolio Number Two

Fotovision is pleased to present the second portfolio of its fine-print program for photography lovers to collect signed, museum-quality gelatin-silver prints from acclaimed photographers. Donations support Fotovision’s workshop programming, student scholarships, small documentary photography books and films about world-class photographers.

This second offering is small. A total of only 30 prints of each image is available. There are only 20 full sets available. Each set has with all five signed, gelatin-silver prints on 8" x 10" paper, encased in a handmade portfolio with an end sheet. The remaining images can be collected separately.

Marcus Bleasdale published work about Congo, the failed nation, in One Hundred Years of Darkness, an exceedingly dangerous task for which he was jailed several times in Congo. His work is published widely in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the U.S. in publications such as the Sunday Times Magazine, Geo Magazine, The New Yorker, TIME and Newsweek.

Tim Hetherington stands out from other photojournalists because he works in a community over a period of years, he has won numerous awards including a Hasselblad grant and two World Press Photo prizes. His work was chosen as part of the “Pictures of the Year 2005.”

Antonin Kratochvil is a founder, with James Nachtwey, of the VII Photo Agency. He has received many of the most prestigious awards for photography such as the Infinity Award, the Alfred Eisenstaedt Award, the Ernst Haas Award, and the Dorothea Lange Award. He has seven books. Please note: this print has sold out as a single image and is only available in the portfolio.

Ian Martin was recognized as the College Photographer of the Year in 1994. He is pursuing several long-term projects including on the townships in South Africa. It is from this body of work in South Africa that Fotovision has chosen a print for the fine print portfolio.

Doug Menuez freelances for Time, Newsweek, Life, Fortune and many other magazines. He has a total of eleven books in all and is an accomplished fashion photographer. The latest book is Heaven, Earth, Tequila.
