Fotovision’s Use of Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site’s computers and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Each web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. (Each browser is different, so check the “Help” menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences.) Fotovision sets a temporary cookie when you first enter the web site. This cookie is checked as you navigate the site so that your visit is only recorded once so we may maintain statistics as to how many visitors come to our site. The only data contained in the cookie is its name. The cookie expires 60 minutes from when you first enter the Fotovision web site. At that time, if your browser is operating properly, the cookie is erased from your computer.

Additionally, when you shop at the Fotovision online store, a cookie is used to maintain the information you enter while you shop. The information in the cookie is cleared when an order is completed or cancelled in PayPal and the cookie expires when you close your browser.

Other Information Collected by Fotovision

To maintain statistics about how the Fotovision web site is used, we collect certain pieces of information from each visitor. This information includes the name and version of the operating system on the visitor’s computer, the name and version of the visitor’s browser, which page on the web site the visitor is currently reading, and if the visitor was sent to the current page by some other page on the web, the universal resource locator (URL) of the referring web page is recorded. None of this information identifies you or provides us with any personal information about you.

This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Fotovision is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. When you connect to a site that is linked to Fotovision, we encourage you to read the privacy statements of all those sites. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.

When Making Purchases or Registering for Classes Through the Website

Purchasing books or other items and registering for classes and events require that you complete an order or registration form that asks you to send us your name, organization, email address, mailing address, and telephone number. This information is stored on the Fotovision server along with other information about the order. Payment information is collected only by PayPal and is not relayed to Fotovision by PayPal.
